I’ve always been pretty loud and extroverted. When you're living in this world of non-stop chatter, thinking and talking, life can make you value the quiet moments much more.
When a seed is planted into the ground, its planted into nothingness and silence. Likewise, most of my huge personality shifts and changes had been epiphanies I've had while in silence in my own room. Most of my reflections and changes came strictly from working internally. My process as a writer to do this is to open my journal, and get to work on journal prompts.
The ones that helped the most are my dream life journal prompts. I usually ask myself exactly what type of woman id like to be and what type of life id like to have for myself. When it comes to this prompt, I like to get really specific. And one thing that helps me to get specific is to get really perceptive about the things I like in other people.
Society also seems to think that certain emotions or scopes of the human mind are especially harmful or taboo, such as jealousy, but in the instance of getting to change your life, that jealousy can be a helpful tool to point you in the right direction of where you want to take yourself.
That tiny bit of silence, that window of profound darkness, all of that is the essence of creation.
Through silence, I've used blank pages and quiet mornings as catalysts for growth. One thing I've realized is that growth usually also does come with pain. If you need to tear a muscle to grow it, why not bear the same pain with your mental growth.
To defend blank pages and the darkness is to understand that the spaces in between the stars is what makes them truly shine.
